The Tale of Two DUI Arrests

This is the story of two Driving Under the Influence arrests of two employees of the Lee County Sheriff Office. The first arrests involved a Lee County Sheriff Office Commander for Driving Under the Influence in Collier County on or about March 8th, 2021. After he was arrested, he was placed on suspension for his actions. It has been reported that the Commander was reinstated shortly afterwords and that the usage of his department vehicle was temporally suspended.

The argument put forward was that there is a presumption that this Commander was innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On July 26th, 2021, the Commander pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of reckless driving and then was returned to full status at the Lee County Sheriff Office.

Recently, a civilian employee of the Lee County Sheriff Office was arrested on a Driving Under the Influence and was immediately fired. The question here is where is the presumption of innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law? That was what the argument was for the Commander. 

Sheriff Carmine Marceno is quoted as saying relating to the arrest of the civilian:

“No one is above the law, and that includes members of our own agency. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism and when those standards of professionalism are violated, we take appropriate action immediately. Our community deserves transparency, accountability, and commitment to doing what’s right every single time.” 

It begs the question, why was the Commander not fired if this is the expected standard? As you study the background and current actions of Sheriff Carmine Marceno you will find that his criminal activity is continuing. The coverup is ongoing. Marceno has used taxpayers’ monies to promote himself and there is no one that is challenging these criminal actions. Marceno has promoted himself into something that he is not.

The paint on that paint brush is running thin. There are so many issues of corruption even the politicians are going to have a hard time covering up the criminal and corrupt activity of Sheriff Carmine Marceno.

Carmine Marceno, if this statement that you have made has any validity that no one is above the law, then do the citizens of Lee County a favor and resign immediately.
