Carmine Marceno spoke with a reporter, Katherine Albers from the Naples Daily News on September 11, 2009 at an event that honored those people and public servants that lost their lives on September 11, 2001 at the Twin Towers in New York City. 

Marceno stated to this reporter that he was working for the Suffolk County Park Police at the time the event took place and that he lost friends at the Twin Towers. 

However, this conflicts with the information on his Lee County Sheriff Office Application where he reported being employed at Island Tan of Naples during this time period. Further, the Suffolk County Park Police indicated in their payroll system that his last day of employment was 09/20/1999.
