OPENING AND CLOSING OF COMMUNITY CENTERS
What is the public purpose of the various community Outreach Centers? The Miromar Outreach Center along with the Bell Tower Outreach Center were opened in June 2019. The Fort Myers Beach Outreach Center was opened in July 2020 after the Miromar Outreach Center was closed (in the same month) due to COVID 19 virus. The Edison Mall Outreach Center opened in October 2020 while the Miromar Outreach Center remained closed due to the COVID 19 virus. Each center has the image of Carmine Marceno, a police vehicle, a dog, and other items that are in decal form and displayed on the front glass area of the centers at an estimated cost over $ 12,000.00 per Outreach Center.
The startup cost is estimated to be $ 70,000.00 per Outreach Center with a yearly reoccurring operational costs of an estimated $ 340.000.00.
Are these centers operated for a "Public Purpose" or for a "Political Purpose"? What is the "Public Purpose" of the image of Carmine Marceno on the windows? If you are concern about reaching those in need, why not Lehigh Acres, North Fort Myers, or the Dunbar area?
Since the filing of this article, two additional Community Centers have been opened. (Fort Myers City and Cape Coral City).
