OFFICE REMODELING

OFFICE REMODELING ($77,000.00)

Carmine Marceno was appointed as Interim Sheriff at the end of September 2018 and the very first act he officially took was to spend over $ 77,000.00 to remodel administrative offices at Six Mile Cypress. These expenditures included the purchase of a Shadow Box "Shirt for Marceno" according to the Purchase Order, a Sheriff Portrait, a Sheriff Star to be mounted in the media room, 27 office doors (made of oak) along with other items. (Document 1) A general summary of these Purchase Orders are found in (Document 2). The main office building is owned by the Lee County Government (BOCC) and provided to the Sheriff's Office for their usage. There are other governmental operations at the facilities (Six Mile Cypress) and as such the Lee County Government makes repairs of needed items for the building. There are approved items that Lee County Government provides in support of the building and approved vendors along with labor costs. When an item or repair is made Lee County Government makes that approval and purchase. (Document 3) For example; there are approved vendors for office doors when a needed repair is required. However, if the Sheriff Office elects to purchase from outside this procedure, (due to a more expensive and elaborate door), the cost becomes the responsibility of the Sheriff Office. These expenditures took place over a six week period in 2018. (Document 4)

Why the reckless use of taxpayers monies for your own image, personal items, or desires?
